Praying for Mom

Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 14th!

Do you have a great relationship with your mom?

Do you have a strained relationship with your mom?

Do you have a mom figure who’s treated you like a daughter?

If your mom is no longer living, would you be willing to pray for a mom you know needs extra encouragement?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, join us for an online praying event!

Beginning May 8th, when you join the event, a prayer topic, scripture, and devotion will be posted for you to reference as you pray for your mom each day leading up to May 14th!

If you are new to joining us for a prayer event, then you might not yet know my stance on praying with intentionality and scripture. I often stress throughout these events how important it is to pray for the specifics. Let me explain.

I can promise you Satan is targeting us specifically, strategically, and with accuracy. (2 Corinthians 11:3,14) He looks for our weaknesses, faults, and soft parts. (1 Peter 5:8). What tempts me might not tempt you. Satan knows this and uses this to his advantage. If we are to fight back in prayer, we must do so with the same accuracy and decisiveness as our enemy. There is nothing wrong with generalized prayers, but there is something much more effective with specific prayers! Let’s not just pray for our Mom’s life, let’s pray for the areas in her life where she needs it most! Better yet, when we pray specifically, let’s use specific verses within our prayers!

The Bible is alive, active and like a sword! (Hebrews 4:12) It is weapon given to us by God to wield and use! It is perfect and restores the soul (Psalm 19:7-8). It is a light to guide us (Psalm 119:105) and hope for the future (Romans 15:4). If the Bible is all of these things and more, it should be used in our prayers! God’s power is seen through the Word and in prayer; we need to be combining both of these elements!

If you wish to dig deeper into the power prayer and scripture hold together, I would highly suggest the book Fervent by Priscilla Shirer or any Power of Praying titles by Stormie Omartian.

Deuteronomy 5:16 says, “ Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.” God clearly commands us to honor our parents. What better way to honor a mother, than pray for her with intentionality and scripture the entire week leading up to Mother’s Day?!

In the mornings, the prayer topic and other resources on praying for your mom will be posted. But in the evenings, a giveaway will be occurring! I’ve partnered with some sisters in Christ, and these amazing ladies want to honor moms by giving away a product they love to those participating! A winner each night of the event will receive one special gift from Younique, Rodan and Fields, Juice Plus, or LulaRoe! Wow!

You can join the online event HERE. Joining allows you access to the daily devotions and prayer topic, as well firsthand knowledge on when the giveaways are occurring! I’ll see you there!
