The Power of a Praying Wife, by Stormie Omartian is a must read for anyone striving to be a godly woman!
This book changed my marriage and relationship with the Lord, for the better. Five years ago, I was a young wife, in love and ready to take on the world with my husband. Though we were both believers, I longed for a way to better myself for my husband. I came across The Power of a Praying Wife and realized there was so much more I could be doing!
I needed to pray for my husband more.
I needed to pray for myself!
I needed to transfer biblical truths to my prayers and thoughts as a wife!
I needed to be specific in my prayers!
I was not alone when my marriage faced certain trials!
I caught myself wishing I had a Bible study to attend. A place where women could share their marriage struggles and blessings. I wanted to learn from others who had been married longer than myself, and walk beside those who were in the same place of marriage as I.
I thought and even grumbled about how there was no such place for me to gather with others to grow and learn about married life, until God told me lead such a study.
Gulp. Me, God? I wasn’t asking to lead; I was asking for someone else to do it! I’ve just gotten married. I don’t know anything about marriage!
On faith and prayer, I began a study in my own home and guess what book the study was over?
You guessed it: The Power of a Praying Wife.
The study was such a joy! The other women enjoyed the book and we all benefited from the guidance, scripture, and written prayers Stormie provides. There is a separate study guide you can purchase as well!
The chapters are broken into specific topics that are applicable to wives. Topics such as “His Work” and “His Health.” If you find your marriage facing a specific trial, the easily divided chapter topics lead you straight to teachings, verses, and prayers to help wives pray for their husbands!
No matter the age of your marriage, if you desire to be closer to your husband and God, this book is for you!
